On Your Move/Loading Dates
- A responsible representative must be at the drop location.
- Call SelfMoves (1-888-530-5899) to confirm arrival of the trailer and the trailer number (listed on the back door). If it's after business hours, you may leave a message on the company voice mail.
- Inspect the trailer for any damage or cracks that might lead to water damage. Report them to SelfMovesUSA immediately.
- Be conscience of the amount of space that you purchased in your contract. If necessary, mark the trailer wall or floor with tape to help you visually see your space. If you need to use extra space, no problem. You will be billed according to the rate per extra foot as listed on your contract.
- It's recommended that you lay plastic on the floor before you load - and to cover your shipment with plastic or tarp after loading. This prevents dust and moisture from getting on your household items.
- After packing is complete, you must install the bulkhead (plywood and bars) to secure your shipment.
- Call SelfMovesUSA (1-888-530-5899) to advise trailer is ready to be picked up and confirm the amount of space used. The best method in confirming space used is the measure the amount of EMPTY trailer space and subtract that from 28. This will confirm usage of LOADED items.
- You are NOT REQUIRED to be at location for pick up of the loaded trailer. If you desire, you may place a lock on the trailer for temporary security - but you must notify us where you have hidden the key or the combination to the lock. Failure to notify us of lock could result in you being charged for Exclusive Use of the trailer and being charge for all 28 feet.
