Before Your Move Date
- Make sure that you have the proper amount of parking space for the 28ft trailer. The trailer requires 14 feet of overhead clearance (make sure there are no low hanging wires or limbs). The trailer is 8ft wide, 9ft tall and approximately 42" to 45" off the ground.
- Check with local parking authorities or enforcement agencies to make sure that you can legally park the trailer at the location - or obtain the proper parking permits, if necessary.
- Make sure you have enough boxes, paper and tape to complete your packing. You do not want to be running around on the day of loading trying to box and tape your shipment. This creates confusion and poor packing habits.
- Expect a call from SelfMoves one [1] business day before the trailer is to be dropped. An estimated window-time will be provided - but due to the complexity of schedules, you must be available all day to accept delivery of the trailer. The window-time is only provided as a courtesy and not a guarantee of time.
- If you plan on using laborers, allow time for the arrival of the trailer. It is highly recommended that you have your trailer dropped the day before your labor/loaders are scheduled.
